Affiliates Left in the Dark After Partnership Cut

Word on the street is that a major operator stopped tracking traffic from affiliate links in Poland back in December. These partners, who were driving traffic to the site, had no clue their efforts weren’t being registered. They kept running campaigns and investing in marketing, only to find out the system had been silently shut down.

For many, the first sign of trouble was a sudden drop in conversions. That’s when they realized something was seriously wrong.

This affiliate cut coincided with a broader restructuring, including the launch of a new brand.

Decision to Cut Ties Came From the Top

Affiliates who had spent years bringing in players were completely left out of the loop. They weren’t told about any player migration plans or offered any way to work with the new brand. No thank you, no nothing. They were kept in the dark.

Apparently, some employees responsible for affiliate relations weren’t happy about this decision. They worried about the company’s reputation and future partnerships. But the higher-ups went ahead anyway, figuring things would eventually blow over. It sounds like it was a calculated move.

Is There Really a Clean Break?

Even though the company claims the new brand is now independent, some things don’t quite add up.

For example, months after the supposed change in ownership, users got an email from the original company’s domain about a new login address. There was no mention of data being transferred, and players weren’t given a chance to opt out.

Questions Arise

  • How was the original company still contacting users if they were supposed to be separate?
  • If the player database was handed over, why was the original company announcing technical changes?

It makes you wonder if they’ve really given up control of the new brand.
